Overview

i3 is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design and maintain Army networks with cyber concepts in mind to verify the DoD customers are operating securely and that data is protected from both internal and external threats. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining a DoD network that is a multi-vendor environment. The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing large, complex systems and networks and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems together as an enterprise networking backbone. Candidate will support all Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assess and Authorization (A&A) efforts to include providing hardware/software/firmware hardening and patching and supporting documentation such as policies, procedures, and network diagrams. Other common cybersecurity tools such as the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) will also be used.
Responsibilities

Primary Objectives of the Sr. Network Engineer:

  • Design, implement, and maintain DoD network multi-vendor environment (Cisco, Juniper, Brocade).
  • Designs and recommends security policies and procedures.
  • Leads the performance of day-to-day networking tasks to ensure network reliability, availability and serviceability with minimal interruption.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and maintains networks/systems according to DoD and industry security best practices.
  • Reviews network/system configurations on switches, firewalls, and routers to ensure compliance with security requirements.
  • Leads network technology upgrades and tech refresh efforts including installation of hardware and software and integration testing.
  • Provide network/system vulnerability scanning via SCAP and ACAS.
  • Investigates security violations and recommends solutions.
  • Performs handling/tracking of COMSEC material.
  • Provides reports to internal and external customers in response to queries and requests.
  • Consults on tasks, provides leadership and guidance for others.
  • Gives recommendations for product upgrades, patches, and general security measures.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of relevant experience required. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience working with system/network vulnerability scanning tools required.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintain classified and unclassified DoD networks in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Experience with Special Access Programs is preferred
  • Must possess an active IAT III certification or be able to obtain either certification within thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or better
  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
