Role Description

Summary:

Senior Human Medical Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for receiving and managing incoming technical support calls from Piccolo users experiencing issues with their Piccolo and/or rotors. Position requires Specialist to manage department projects relating to Quality and Regulatory Assurance requirements, as well as analysis of blood chemistry data for Piccolo users in the field. Senior Technical Representative will work closely with other Technical Support Representatives in the department to ensure proper documentation of user complaints and MDR reporting requirements. Senior TS Specialist is also responsible for leading the department in Piccolo connectivity expertise and communicating new software updates and field actions to Piccolo distributors and end-user customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other Technical Support Representatives within the department to ensure accurate and thorough documentation of field complaints and/or MDR reports
  • Oversee the department's needs for data analysis and charting, including Deming regression analysis, and linearity charting for analyte concentrations
  • Work closely with the QA department to ensure all Human Health documentation meets or exceeds corporate requirements
  • Handle incoming technical support calls from Piccolo end-users and customers in the U.S.
  • Accurately document the details of each call in the Quality Management System.
  • Support customer correlations, protocols, and validation requests.
  • Support and document, in Quality Management System, customer evaluations and data analysis.
  • Responsible for understanding and answering questions surrounding JCAHO/CMS-CLIA/COLA regulations.
  • Responsible for documenting and supporting new Piccolo installations.
  • Responsible for documenting, in Quality Management System, and escalating performance issues to Quality department.
  • Communicate to customer base new software updates and field actions.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Education and Experience:
  • Experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced Human Health Technical Support department.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Pathology or Clinical Chemistry, Laboratory clinical chemistry preferred.
  • One year of experience working in a Human Health clinical or laboratory setting is a plus.
  • Background working in a medical technical support leadership role is a plus.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of clinical chemistry, medical laboratory products and instrumentation.

Skills:
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong listening, oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of CLIA regulations & inspections, Clinical Chemistry and US proficiency testing requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the creation/management of Deming regression analysis and linearity
  • Experience with complex CRM systems (Dynamics, Salesforce, Epicor)
  • Effective Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
