Your role:

Working independently and in coordination with the Material Handling Lead and Supervisor, the Senior Material Handler handles all transactions and delivery of various Life Science filtration device raw materials and supplies to the DSPC production areas. Will use Oracle ERP system to transact a large variety and high volume of raw materials to discrete production work orders across a variety of manufacturing production lines. Label and deliver these materials in a fast-paced environment and share best practices.

The Senior Material Handler will perform basic trouble-shooting and maintain an organized and safe work area. Interfaces and works with engineering, management, and senior manufacturing personnel in identifying, supporting, and implementing process improvements. The working hours are 7am-3pm Monday through Friday, overtime on occasion.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment.
  • Know and follow all Company safety rules, such as safe work practices, personal protective equipment, and standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as a good role model to peers for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Ensure compliance to all aspects of the Quality Management System as they pertain to Materials Control, Handling, Line Opening/Closing, and labelling.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Knowledge of product flow throughout a manufacturing production line.
  • Operate PCs, printers, Word, Excel, Access, Oracle.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with all levels of staff both orally and written.
  • Work in a group setting where teamwork
  • Demonstrates a high attention to detail

Physical Attributes:

Lift up to 50lbs and able to stand for up to 8 hours

Who you are:

Minimum qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a fast pace manufacturing environment while working in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving role
  • 1+ years' experience working with ERP systems

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in any field
  • Previous leadership experience, Good decision maker
  • Strong knowledge of QMS, ISO and cGMP and working with Oracle
  • Experience in regulated industry (medical device, pharma, biotech)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities and tasks based on changing demand, Ability to work in a complex and fast paced environment
  • High intellectual horsepower with proven problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing certifications
  • Ability to drive change and challenge the status quo in a respectful/professional manner
  • Hands-on team player with high energy and work as a collaborative team member and leader to achieve operational safety, quality, and output goals. Self-motivated, have an intense customer focus and be able to satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.
