Working independently and with limited supervision under direction of the Marketing Vice President, the Senior Community Manager is responsible for managing communications both internally and externally.

The role will possess a passion for a fast-paced environment, independent problem solving and strong project management skills with an eye for details. You know what players want, sometimes even before they do. You understand what it takes to turn a skeptical audience into a healthy, engaged community. You're comfortable being the center of attention, both when things are easy and when they are challenging. You have a knack for making complex ideas feel approachable. You love to take on new challenges and learn new skills.

You will have a wide variety of responsibilities and will be expected to execute on various types of community programs as well as introduce new ideas to support multiple company projects simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set strategies and targets for community growth and retention.
  • Set, plan, and implement community-focused communication campaigns.
  • Plan and manage a twice-weekly Twitch stream focused on key releases and sales beats.
  • Respond to customers on social media and online forums in a timely manner
  • Monitor, track, and report on feedback and online sentiment
  • Organize and manage online and in-person events to boost brand affinity
  • Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams
  • Liaise with all internal departments and external publishing partners
  • Build relationships with customers, store managers, industry professionals and journalists
  • Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends
  • Translate key IP knowledge into business opportunities
  • Be a gamer. Speak the language. Be comfortable in a room full of gamers.

SENIOR COMMUNITY MANAGER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven work experience as a community manager or similar role
  • Experience planning and leading community initiatives
  • Ability to identify and track relevant community KPIs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentations skills
  • Ability to interpret social platform analytics
  • Knowledge of online marketing
  • Attention to detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver
  • Active on social networks with a strong understanding of current and upcoming trends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred
  • 5 years of experience in AAA videogame community management or similar role preferred
  • You play and enjoy videogames on multiple platforms
  • You've got mountains of Reddit karma and you live in the Discord channels for your favorite games, publishers, and developers
  • Takes ownership of projects and are a self-starter.
  • Working understanding of brand marketing and promotions, event planning, and facilitating effective agency relationships
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines accurately in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Proficient ability to provide and respond favorably to feedback
  • Demonstrated capacity for innovative thinking, including a high risk tolerance
  • Working ability to assertively solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
