Senior Life Sales Consultant

What You'll Do:

  • This employee position is part of our internal life and annuity sales support team.
  • You will be relied upon as a valuable sales resource for our agents as they promote life, annuity and other financial products as solutions for our client/members. 
  • Have a high level of insurance and investment industry knowledge and expertise in fixed and indexed life and annuities as well as other financial products.
  • Be able to coach and train agents by phone in all aspects of the life insurance and investment sales process.
  • Be able to provide agents with the following kinds of sales support:

o   Uncover new sales opportunities.

o   Cross sell clients from one product line to another

o   Analyze client data to recommend the best life and annuity product mix to help the client achieve their goals

o   Be familiar with different ways to illustrate life and annuity products for optimal results

o   Place rated life insurance cases

o   Service existing policies

o   Maximize an agent's participation in current sales contests and promotions

o   How to position Farm Bureau products to help agents win the business when competing against other insurance carriers

o   Understand the taxation aspects of our products and be able to explain them to agents

o   Discuss life insurance and retirement plan options for individuals and business owners

o   Be able to confidently discuss taxation aspects of insurance products and estate planning considerations

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to increase agent product knowledge and understanding of our financial products.
  • Be able to create the content for sales training presentations in PowerPoint and be able deliver those presentations in person or on webinars.
  • Be able to bring a sales mentality in to our sales support department and share your knowledge and expertise with our career agents.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • Series 6/7 and 63/66 registrations, and Life/Health insurance license required. If not currently S-26 registered, the applicant would be expected to obtain that registration within the first year of employment.
  • Industry designations such as CLU, ChFC, and CFP are preferred.
  • Specialized tax and estate and business succession planning knowledge & experience are highly desired.
  • College degree or equivalent plus 5 years of sales related experience.
  • Must be comfortable with using technology: Microsoft office products, E-Mail, CRM systems, insurance product illustration software, financial planning software, etc.
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to work well with the field force and home office personnel

Work Authorization/Sponsorship: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are not able to sponsor now or in the future, or take over sponsorship of, an employment visa or work authorization for this role. For example, we are not able to sponsor OPT status.
