Overview

The Senior Internal Auditor III will perform more complex financial, compliance, and operational audits in accordance with generally accepted internal auditing standards. An internal audit (including Sarbanes Oxley processes) will consist of reviewing how controls are designed and operating to mitigate identified risks of the various departments within the organization to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial records, strong internal control environments, and compliance with company standards, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Independently performing process walkthroughs to identify the key activities, risks and controls
  2. Applying risk and control concepts to assess control design and developing a test approach of the key controls
  3. Testing the operating effectiveness of the key controls identified
  4. Enhancing more complex audit / accounting / technical knowledge
  5. Discussing and reporting control design deficiencies and controls not operating as designed
  6. Validating with management the resolution and implementation of corrective action plans
  7. Performing direct assistance (i.e., substantive testing) work on behalf of our external auditors
  8. Performing more complex special projects as deemed necessary by management
  9. Provides suggestions to management on ways to mitigate risk or enhancing the effectiveness of processes
  10. Maintaining organizational and professional ethical standards and ensuring internal audit activities are carried out in compliance with the Standards
  11. Working on multiple audits and projects simultaneously
  12. Completing audits' key requirements and workpapers independently with limited supervision
  13. Documenting high quality workpapers that are easy to follow and require minimal revisions upon review
  14. Willingness to enhance internal audit concepts and techniques
  15. Asks questions to better understand assigned tasks
  16. Communicates status regularly
  17. Meet deadlines or informs direct supervisor of roadblocks
  18. Listen to peers, managers and clients
  19. Willing to put in the extra effort so that the Department can meet key milestones and deadlines
  20. Perform other functionally related duties as assigned
  21. Being a positive influence for the team and guide junior staff
  22. As needed, be able to travel-domestically up to 5%


Qualifications

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor Degree, preferable in Accounting or Internal Audit
  • Computer skills on MS Office (e.g. excel, power point)
  • Clear and concise written communication
  • Minimal grammatical / spelling errors in written communication
  • Professional demeanor with clients and teammates
  • Demonstrates integrity and respect
  • More advanced audit / accounting / technical knowledge


Preferred:
  • CPA, CIA or equivalent audit qualification is a plus
  • 4 or more years of Audit experience, particularly in financial industry

The salary range for this role is $90,000-100,000 This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Jersey City, New Jersey. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible.
