Job Description Summary

A key member of the project team and works with project managers, engineering, and SC leadership to define large capital projects goals and objectives. Ensures all aspects of financial management are appropriately applied to Lamb Weston's large capital improvements and investments. Supports investment initiatives by managing accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasting of capital projects. Applies internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with all partners. Execution of projects and continuously improve the capital investment and monitoring processes. Works proactively with operating and functional management to resolve analytical and control issues. Implement and enforce the Capital Investment Policy.

Job Description

  • Manages duties and functions in the areas of capital management and financial analysis for large capital projects.
  • Creates and maintains project budgets and schedule. Analyzes progress reported against budget and plan to recommend actions to improve results.
  • Tracks, reports, and records costs related to builds. Provides a cadence of reporting and communication to project teams and functional leaders.
  • Reports and analyzes capital investment expenditures, providing recommendations and driving action to control variances.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills to prioritize multiple large projects simultaneously.
  • Builds partnerships with Project Management, Engineering, , and Operations leaders and leverages those relationships to ensure data and reporting are accurate.
  • Guarantees quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Accumulate and report financial results for capital investment expenditures and ROI to senior leaders.
  • Enforce and validate project data collection.
  • Ensures compliance with all internal and regulatory controls.
  • Manages submitted capital investment requests, approvals and progress in the appropriate financial systems.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Demonstrates a zero loss and root cause mindset.
  • Partners with Audit teams to ensure controls and risk management are followed.
  • Prepare capital expenditure forecast updates, working with operating/functional capital contacts to keep spend on track.
  • Provide expertise to project teams regarding Cost Control procedures, Capital Investment, and Fixed Asset policies.
  • Support fiscal year planning including recommendations and strategies.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 years financial experience with a preference for audit, controller, or project management emphasis.
  • Bachelor's degree required, finance or accounting major preferred.
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Experience in SAP or other ERP
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to analyze investments and data and develop actionable recommendations.
  • GAAP: fundamental knowledge of, understanding of internal and external research methods for, and driving compliance of these practices
  • Reporting: proven ability to consolidate complex information into usable customer-oriented formats.
  • Business Partnering: experience working closely with internal customers, peers and effectively managing those relationships.
  • Internal Controls: experience working with and maintaining existing controls.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, change, and a dynamic business environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
