Onward Search is on recruiting a Sr. UX Design Specialist for a long-term contract assignment with our client in the financial services industry. We're looking for candidates with the following skillset and experience to fill the role. 

Responsibilities:


Architects plan and lead the facilitation of cross-functional human-centered workshops. Planning deliverables include time-boxed agendas, customized templates, and artifacts needed for activities, presentation deck.
Consults with stakeholders and business leads to ensure workshop activities are aligned with meeting business goals.
Contributes thought leadership and expertise to projects and partnerships.
Mentors and educates partners on human-centered design and how to leverage it to meet their business objectives in an iterative, customer-centric way
Facilitates the human-centered design process and methods for omnichannel experience design projects and programs, in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
Identifies design-driven opportunities for customer value and business growth.
Synthesizes multiple types of research including customer research, competitive and comparative landscape, quantitative data, SME, and stakeholder interviews. Methods may include: experience mapping, wants/needs analysis, customer jobs-to-be-done, gallery-walk insight crafting, 2x2 mapping, POV mad-libs, customer scenarios, and personas.
Conducts competitive and comparative landscape assessments, subject matter and stakeholder interviews, and benchmarks analogous experiences to build a rich knowledge of the problem space.
Leverages qualitative and quantitative learnings to evolve concepts or pivot in a new direction.
Works with highly ambiguous challenges, often at the beginning of initiatives, before decisions have been made on what experience is being built or created. Informs strategy related to customer value and experience.
Creates human-centered design deliverables and artifacts. Deliverables may include experience maps, insight frameworks, experience design strategy, design criteria, napkin pitches, assumptions test plans, value-prop statements.
Participates in design team events, critiques, and meetings. Stay up-to-date on design systems, brand guidelines, and team standards.
Stays informed of design and innovation trends, frameworks and methods.


Qualifications:


An ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in solving a wide range of business problems using design thinking methods. Must have a passion for architecting and leading design workshops and sprints.
The focus of this role will be facilitating design thinking workshops, providing XD strategy. If the candidate can do rapid prototyping, that is a plus.
Must be proficient in Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
