Position Summary

MEPPI's award winning Diamond Vision Division (DVD) is known for some of North Americas most compelling and dynamic large LED Video Displays in the market. Due to business growth, we are hiring an experienced Sr. Electrical Project Engineer to perform project, application, installation and design engineering duties for the sports and entertainment industry. In addition, the Sr. Electrical Project Engineer will advise display vendors on product design and participate with new vendor/product verifications.
Essential Functions

  • Support technical communication and directions between DVD and overseas display vendors.
  • Advise and direct display vendors in the design of new and existing products for standard and custom projects.
  • Support the selection and qualification of display vendors in cooperation with Sales and Quality.
  • Design and implement product/systems training material as required for staff and customers.
  • Lead the creation of engineering documentation (designs, drawings, BOM's, budgets, estimates, SOW's, etc.) to support Sales and Projects departments.
  • Collaborate with the display vendors on technical and design issues related to products, projects, and service.
  • Create and maintain item master (parts), BOM's, vendor cross-references within MEPPI MRP system.
  • Assist Sales with creation of technical specs for products and services sourced locally or through DVD vendors.
  • Document and resolve quality and non-conformance issues within the organization and suppliers, including continual process improvement directives.
  • Develop and perform MEPPI product verification testing, product delivery schedules, on-site Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs), and product/customer documentation with display vendors.
  • Evaluate, assess and correct screen display color/brightness artifacts during FAT testing and at customer sites.
  • Verify and document display and system compliance for applicable FCC emissions and UL safety requirements.
  • Develop DVD standards for customer documentation and operation and maintenance manuals, including software/data backups for projects.
  • Serve as advanced engineering resource to MEPPI personnel, customers and on-site contractors (telephone or on-site) for product installation, operation and service related issues as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical degree, with a minimum 7 years of experience working with large-scale video systems or video systems integration, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic display systems, video, computer hardware and/or systems integration.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standard drawings (e.g. one-lines, wiring diagrams, mechanical and system block diagrams, structural steel, etc.) and materials.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with ability to maintain relationships with diverse customers and channel partners.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and MRP/ERP systems.
