The North Bay Logistics Specialist is a mobile position/driver created improve the overall efficacy of the Ops services. In this key role the specialist will move goods and services, monitor fleet services and furniture coordination and pony express throughout the Organization.

Primary Duties:

  • Coordinate North Bay transportation of goods including SHFB pick-ups, food related deliveries and supports various departments with the delivery of in-kind donations as needed .
  • Follow property management schedule and ensure compliance for company postings and equipment are met
  • Monitor and audit site property management binder to ensure it is up-to-date with information (WIKI).
  • Audit operations equipment and create work orders (business license, washing machine, copier postings, monitoring ansul systems, food equipment and temperature logs
  • Monitor operations site beautification initiative and ensure optimal performance and appearance of sites
  • Sorts, prepares, and processes incoming interoffice mail, agency mail, parcels, bulk mail (Pony Express)
  • Furniture Coordination:
    • Maintain Furniture Request System (FMX) and work with sites to submit timely requests
    • Conduct quarterly room checks to assess condition of furniture
    • In kind donation
  • In Kind donation:
    • Partner with PARCA to ensure timely pick-up of unwanted in-kind donations
    • Ensure unneeded donations are removed from warehouses and passed on to other partner organizations
  • Vehicle/Fleet Management
    • Work with programs to ensure the fleet is serviced in a timely manner
    • Manage preferred vendors and ensure pricing is competitive
    • Provide reports on the health of the fleet
    • Ensure all paperwork is complete for purchase, donation and retirement of vehicles
    • Monitor fleet insurance including accidents
    • Ordering supplies for vehicles as needed
  • Other duties as needed
Position Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Professional experience in food service a plus.
  • Personal or professional experience working with the homeless or with mental health clients a plus.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Ability to work as part of a team to meet foodservice team goals.
  • Ability to complete food safety training and testing.
  • Proficiency in internet research and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must hold a current driver's license and proof of liability insurance.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Must be able to problem solve independently and work as a team member.
  • Must be flexible, prompt and reliable.
Physical Activity Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear; and taste or smell
  • The employee is required to walk and sit frequently. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
