As a member of the leadership team, the Senior Director of Value-Base Consulting will work in close partnership with the Nephrology Care Alliance (NCA) and DaVita local operators to define, shape, develop and execute strategies to promote the physician-led NCA value story to targeted payors, leveraging the company's extensive experience and commitment to innovation, quality improvement, and accountable care.

This Senior Director role will develop executive-level relationships with payor partners as well as NCA nephrologist partners in concert with local operators and promote new value-based care agreements that align with the NCA Quality Network's mission of improving quality and value for patients and payors alike. The Senior Director of Value-Based Consulting will be a dynamic ambassador who can develop trust within the DaVita community.

This role can be based anywhere in the South California Market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes strategies to develop value-based care contracts with local payers, particularly focused on chronic kidney disease (CKD)

  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of assigned geographies including payor, competitor, and nephrology practice dynamics

  • Work closely with NCA teammates to ensure strategies and sales materials are consistent with NCA Quality Network objectives for the targeted geographies and associated nephrology partners

  • Partner with local DaVita leadership to identify payor priorities and develop the strategies to achieve new value-based contract opportunities with those payors

  • Maintains collaborative working relationships with all levels of operational management and coordinates across corporate integrated kidney care functions and Payer Contracting team

  • Eventually leads care teams responsible for clinical interventions that help achieve specific value-based care outcomes

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree

    • Master's degree preferred in relatable field - MHA, MSN, MBA, or MPH

    • 8-10 years' experience in healthcare, with 5+ years' experience in business development

    • Prefered experience in payor relations or payor contracting.

    • Understands the critical elements of working with payors in non-traditional partnerships (shared savings, capitation, fee per service)

    • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing at operational levels

    • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel; Intermediate skills and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

    • Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment

    • Innovative and flexible thinker with the ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously across multiple teams

    • Able to articulate benefits of improved patient outcomes to profitable financial growth with internal and external parties

    • Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills alongside a proven track record of analytical ability needed to develop strategy and direction

    • Demonstrate the ability, talent, commitment, and ambition to assume increased scopes of responsibility

    • Travel: Up to 30%
