SUMMARY

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst supports activities of the Chickasaw Nation Industries Corporate Office of Strategy by conducting analytical research and data analysis related to strategic business opportunities. This position works closely with the Director of Market Intelligence to investigate diverse data sets relative to growth strategies across federal and commercial sectors. The primary focus of this position is to utilize a portfolio of analytic capabilities, including predictive analytics, big data management, and data mining in order to conduct complex decision modeling techniques to optimize business decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates in the capacity of a lead resource working with CNI business partners through the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data using data querying and development designs. Generates new reports, dashboards, data tables, etc. to provide timely insight while enhancing the efficiency, automation and accuracy of existing reports.

Collects, analyzes, interprets and evaluates various types of internal and external data using multiple types of data sets and data discovery tools (primarily using Tableau, but also IBM Cognos, Microsoft SQL, SAP Business Objects, etc.).

Applies predictive analytics and advanced statistical techniques to drive strategic thought and effective decision making. Helps to develop solid strategies that provide key stakeholders with necessary data intelligence for making informed decisions.

Gathers and validates information from appropriate internal and external sources such as financial statements, industry trend reports / publications, federal agency spending forecasts, conferences, and contract performance metrics.

Prepares reports and develops business recommendations based on quantifiable data findings. Presents findings via data visualizations and oral presentations to senior managers.

Provides analytical insight to help form effective solutions to business problems. Advises colleagues on which types of predictive analytical techniques are appropriate for distinct data sets and data quality.

May be tasked with multiple projects concurrently. Prioritizes and monitors progress against goals to ensure successful completion of analytic projects.

Research external methods, processes and software to remain up to date on current and emerging industry trends and concepts. Makes recommendations based on findings.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole.Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years experience, or 7 years of commensurate experience in lieu of specific degree is required. Degrees in related fields such as Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Business Sustainability, Finance, Data Science, Intelligence Studies, Statistics, and Marketing Research & Analytics are acceptable, but no specific degree or major required as long as the candidate can show proficiency in the skills referenced above. Knowledge of and/or experience with Tableau Reporting and Dashboard development is preferred but not required.

Operational knowledge and understanding of advanced data analysis techniques and methodologies.

Skilled proficiency utilizing data modeling and business visualization tools.

Excellent research and analytical skills with ability to identify problems, determine accuracy / relevance of information, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.

Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and statistical / modeling software.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to compose meaningful reports and to present research / information with clarity.

Ability to effectively display data in a format that visually demonstrates the value of analytic deliverables.

Ability to employ a collaborative, customer service approach.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Ability to take initiative and to be self-motivated in meeting schedules and timelines.

Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment for the successful achievement of goals.
