Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Biologist/Restoration Specialist/Project Manager who will be responsible for delegating and overseeing workflow and successful project execution, working directly with their peers and junior staff.

What Do You Get To Do In This Position:

  • Project Management
    • Overseeing complex regulatory permitting projects and coordinating with agencies (e.g., USACE, USFWS, NMFS, RWQCB, CDFW, BCDC, CCC)
    • Managing and completing moderate to large sized projects and major tasks of larger projects in a largely unsupervised manner
    • Coordinating and tracking of assignments, scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
    • Serving as Rincon's primary Project point of contact for the client and regulatory agencies
    • Technical direction to staff and subcontractors
    • QA / QC
  • Business Development
    • Client outreach
    • Proposal writing and development of cost and schedule estimates
    • Client interviews
    • Presentations
  • Technical Work
    • Identify optimal permitting pathways for complex projects, and develop required technical studies and application materials
    • Conduct stream/wetland delineations and other fieldwork necessary to complete biological documentation and restoration plans for projects
    • Travel (with overnight stays) when needed
    • Prepare high quality technical studies and environmental documents, including biological technical reports, biological impacts analyses for CEQA/NEPA, jurisdictional delineations, habitat restoration plans, and permit application packages

This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • Minimum of BS or BA in Biology or equivalent and at least 5+ years of relevant consulting experience (Project Management, Business Development and Technical Work)
  • Bay Area species experience a plus, including one or more of the following: salt marsh harvest mouse, Ridgway's rail, western snowy plover, burrowing owl, San Francisco garter snake, Alameda whipsnake, California tiger salamander, California red-legged frog, and California seablite.
  • Demonstrated successes of supervising employees, being solution-oriented, and fostering positive relationship with staff, clients, agencies and subconsultants
  • Biological impacts analyses (CEQA/NEPA)
  • Botanical surveys
  • Wildlife species surveys
  • Wetland delineations & jurisdictional determinations
  • CRAM assessments
  • Regulatory permitting, compliance oversight, and monitoring
  • Restoration planning, habitat management, mitigation monitoring
