Overview

This key position on the Champion Sales team is to assist in the management and ownership of the Off Price/Close Out channel growth opportunity. This individual will be responsible for the analytics, po tracking and tactical execution in driving well thought-out sales and marketing strategies across a complex platform of categories delivering sales and optimizing profit recovery. Position is accountable for managing a range of business elements that will vary over time, however it will include a need for internal functional expertise including but not limited to marketing, finance, customer service and customer operations. This role is responsible for providing support to the Manager of Off Price/Close Out and Hbi cross-functional teams supporting the Champion business, with a focus on inventory reduction, recovery optimization and execution. This individual must be analytical, a self-starter, a collaborator, a good communicator and have a strong desire to learn the business.

Responsibilities

  • Individual needs to have deep passion for learning with an entrepreneurial spirit. Must have the ability to be analytical and creative in order to think outside the box to be a solutions provider.
  • Exhibits understanding of customer service and the sales process with the ability to communicate and execute against key strategies.
  • Serve as the communication link between the Off Price/Close Out Accounts and the HBI internal cross-functional teams - sales, customer operations, customer service, finance, marketing/SBU's, and other cross-functional areas for all business aspects.
  • Collaborate with account buying teams, business units, planning and the Champion planning team for alignment and the flawless executions of po management and product shipments.
  • Responsible product plan creation, item creation, PO maintenance. Assist in the input and completion of templates with the planning and replenishment group so information is accurately loaded into HbI and customer systems.
  • Participate in Hbi's TRAK process to ensure all demand and customer service issues are well understood. Proactively identity issues that may impact service.
  • Partner in development and presentation of sales opportunities (both internal and external) to achieve results consistent with volume and profit objectives.
  • Troubleshoot issues/opportunities to ensure successful execution of programs and completion of objectives.
  • The scope of the position includes product set-ups, market analysis, account sales analysis, understanding of all sales and marketing programs.
  • Tracking of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial and sales plans in conjunction with Manager, Off Price/Close Out.
  • Develop strong relationships with account management, buying, replenishment and financial planning staffs.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years sales, retail buying, or marketing experience in the apparel industry and/or CPG experience.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills required.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), including excellent presentation skills.
  • Financial Acumen; must fully understand retail scorecard drivers, and be able to manage detailed analytics
  • Possess strong tactical skills; able to manage detailed execution plans, both internally and externally
  • Proven ability to build strong business relationships.
  • Proven ability as a "thinker", a "strategist" and a "problem solver"!
  • Travel required.
