The Role

As a Senior Accounant on the Lumen Cash team, you will provide timely and accurate accounting for assigned cash accounts, including preparing complex cash reconciliations from bank to the general ledger in OneStream. This role ensures that all assigned cash and cash related activities are recorded daily, to accurately maintain all cash and cash clearing accounts. Candidate will also follow and update all processes and procedures over cash accounting, including compliance with SOX and external audit standards. Significant collaboration with Treasury, International Accounting, Cash Applications, Accounts Payable, and Intercompany Accounting to research issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions will be necessary.

The Main Responsibilities

Perform monthly accounting activities for financial close accurately and timely
Prepare a variety of complex journals
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned General Ledger accounts
Perform complex analysis
Mentor and support team members to help meet monthly close deadlines while ensuring accuracy.
Liaison with Treasury, Cash Applications, Accounts Payable and other Lumen Accounting teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the monthly reporting
Assist the group to maintain master data records
Prepare documentation and analysis to respond to internal and external requests.
Comply with relevant accounting standards and SOX controls
Assist with internal and external audits
Communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers.
Help improve and document processes across the general accounting team
Assist with SAP and other IT enhancement projects, as well as other special projects as needed

What We Look For in a Candidate

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, CPA designation is helpful.
Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience, with at least one year in an organization with a large ERP accounting system such as SAP or Oracle.
Previous experience with complex Bank Reconciliations is required.
Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to multitask by working in a face paced, constantly changing environment.
Excellent time management skills with the ability and willingness to meet deadlines imposed by monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at varied levels.
Ability to efficiently utilize MS Office Suite of Applications specially Word and Excel.
Proven track record of achieving professional goals successfully
