Ledgent is hiring for dynamic and rapidly growing real estate development firm committed to creating exceptional properties that enrich communities. Our portfolio encompasses a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with expertise in real estate or construction accounting to join our team.

Position: Senior Accountant (Real Estate/Construction)

Location: The Woodlands Area

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of accounting functions related to real estate development projects, including but not limited to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to track project costs, monitor budgets, and analyze variances.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of project accounts and review general ledger entries.
• Conduct detailed financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with external auditors during year-end audits and tax filings.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and accounting standards related to real estate and construction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on real estate or construction industry.
• Strong understanding of real estate development processes, including project accounting, cost management, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.
