JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

The Security Officer will be located in our Longmont,CO office and will be responsible for ensuring the safety of employees and security of property according to policies and procedures; monitor systems that ensure the preservation and integrity of intellectual properties and prevent the misuse of property, software, or other proprietary information.

This is for day shifts at this time - possibly nights.

Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Security Function -

  • Perform a variety of tasks to ensure the safety of employees and property are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Monitor the operations of the Door Card Access system, Alarm systems, and CCTV Systems utilizing security software (e.g., velocity, etc.)
  • Perform routine inspections of buildings and property for safety and security conditions, reporting any concerns in a timely manner
  • Monitor the on-site activities of contractors and vendors
  • Respond to law violations or security incidents as outlined in the policies and procedures *Follow procedures and maintain equipment to ensure the safety and security of employees during natural and man-made emergencies
  • Assist departments with a variety of employee relation incidents, as needed (e.g., employment terminations, architectural issues, etc)
  • Document incidents concerning loss or misuse of property or proprietary information in a accurate and timely manner
  • Educate employees in matters of safety, security, and intellectual property loss prevention (e.g., CPR, etc.) * Coordinate with Public Safety agencies that are responding to company properties *Provide appropriate notifications of any incident or condition that may affect the safety and security of employees, visitors, or property
  • Perform a variety of tasks to ensure visitors information is correct in the system (e.g., scanning licenses, deactivate and re-activate badges, escorting visitors, etc.) Team Interfaces/ Customer Service - Establish and maintain a professional relationship with internal/external customers, team members and department contacts

  • Compensation
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The salary for this position is hourly and will be hourly and $16 -$17 with a shift differential for evening and week-end work for employees located in Colorado.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required Experience
  • Minimum of two years experience in public safety or private security environment required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Windows based interfaces required
  • Basic knowledge of security software (e.g., velocity, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to respond to incidents or concerns during all shifts required


The following physical and mental requirements may be required for this position.

  • Lifting may be required to lift or move 55 pounds as required
  • May be asked to set out or pick up parking cones
  • Must be able to have full range of motion of the head to look up, down, and around to identify potential security concerns
  • Must have excellent eyesight to scan employees coming in and out of the building from the assigned security desk as well as decipher items employees or visitors may be carrying
  • May be asked to continually walk halls, go up and down stair wells, and physically monitor parking lots
  • Occasionally may be asked to quickly react from a sitting position to handle issues or altercations
  • As required will work alone often, and will be required to make decisions which affect employee and building safety
  • As assigned, may work hours outside of regularly scheduled shifts (i.e. fill in for night shift)
