Positions are currently available for those who are 16 or older.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must meet SC Law Enforcement Division security officer requirements. (Security Associate - Patrol & Loss Prevention)
- Ability to complete training for American Heart Association Infant, Child, and Adult CPR certification.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

The Carowinds Security Department is responsible for monitoring park property and enforcing policies which allows Guests and associates to have a FUN and stress-free day. The work is often fast-paced and can be demanding at times.
There are a variety of positions available; all work together as a team to ensure the park’s safe operation and keep control in emergency situations.
- Responding to calls for service, crowd management, protecting property and company assets, promoting good public relations, enforcing park policies and more.
- Provide a visible presence around company property, traffic control/management, respond to calls for service in the parking lot/around company property, vehicle escorts, and promoting good public relations.
- Conducts surveillance/audits/company investigations relating to loss prevention, internal fraud and theft, credit card fraud activity, and criminal offenses.
- Identify, research, and interview individuals suspected of violating company policies.
- Monitors guests through metal detection, bag inspections, & health screenings
- Inspects packages, bags, and personal items at park entrances
- Answers emergency and non-emergency phone calls and coordinates the proper response of security/law enforcement/medical personnel as needed.
- Monitors fire and burglar alarm systems, coordinates departmental paging in the event of emergencies, performs various clerical duties including completing a dispatch log, answering guest questions, directing telephone traffic, and more.
