A Biotechnology Company is seeking a Scientist in Santa Monica, CA.

Role Description

Seeking a Scientist to take on critical roles to support analytical design and characterization of retroviral and lentiviral vectors to enable vector process design and manufacturing. The person in this role will contribute to team projects, be a role model, work cross-functionally, and take ownership of important analytical tasks.
• Plan and execute experimental work to support vector process design and improvement
• Analyze data and effectively communicate experimental results to team members and maintain proper documentation of experimental results
• Contribute to method optimization, qualification and routine testing of viral vector samples
• Collaborate closely with the method development and analytical testing groups to support method development/optimization, characterization, troubleshooting, and transfer.
• Author/review test methods, SOPs and technical protocols/reports.

Skills & Requirements

• BS with 8+ years, or MS with 3+ years, or PhD with 2 + years of industry experience in Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Virology and/or related fields.
• Strong background in mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, qPCR/ddPCR, and ELISA-based methods.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing platforms, library construction and computational bioinformatics analyses (i.e. Illumina systems).
• Familiar with data analysis software, such as MS Excel, JMP and SoftMax Pro.
• Familiar with DOE for assay optimization and robustness.
• Knowledge of relevant USP/ICH/EU regulations, GMP/GLP requirements, and industry practices.
• Highly collaborative team player who demonstrates open communication.
• Strong scientific writing and presentation skills.
