Job Description:

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) currently has an opening for a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Intern on the State Based Systems (SBS) team. This is a hybrid-remote internship based out of the Kansas City, MO office. Candidates must live within 100 miles of the Kansas City office and attend team and company meetings as scheduled by the manager.

Job functions for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Embrace a Lean-Agile mindset that enables business agility
  
• Utilize Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles to efficiently deliver high-quality solutions
  
• Apply SAFe Scrum and/or Kanban to iteratively define, build, test, and deliver value to customers
  
• Participate in SAFe and Agile Team activities such as program planning, story pointing, sprint planning, daily scrums, and retrospectives
  

• Assist with identifying test scenarios or creating test cases
  
• Perform various types of manual testing to ensure the quality, functionality, and usability of software applications
  
• Verify database configurations using SQL and automated test scripts
  
• Assist with updating, executing, and analyzing automated test scripts
  

Skills and Abilities:

• Communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing
  
• Collaborate effectively with individuals and teams in-person or from a remote environment
  
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities
  
• Strong deductive reasoning skills to identify issues identified in testing and to analyze test results
  

Minimum Requirements:

• Current college student working toward a degree in computer-related fields or business fields of study, or someone interested in a career change in the Information Technology field
  
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours on average/week
  
• Must have the ability to perform job functions remotely
  
• This internship is expected to last between 9-12 months.
  

Compensation:

$16.00 per hour
