Manager, Global Sales Compensation Enablement

Job Location:San Jose/remote

Primary Job Responsibilities:

PayPal seeks an experienced business-savvy, data driven, action-oriented individual to join our Sales Compensation team. The Sales Compensation Enablement Manager role is a unique opportunity that calls for a skilled, hands-on, analytical leader who will lead the team supporting data acquisition, commission systems development and reporting. This role is part program manager, and part operational expert. In this role you will refine the strategic vision for the data supporting the compensation program and establish a team culture that will improve timeliness, accuracy, and transparency, with the ultimate objective of driving revenue and employee engagement through the sales compensation program.

The right candidate will possess a strong product and program management background, have experience leading medium to large tech products and projects, and excel at written and verbal communications. A background in sales operations or with automated calculations will be significant plus. This role reports to the Director, Global Sales Compensation and will lead a team with future growth potential in line with delivered value.

Responsibilities

  • This leader is the designated owner of sales compensation data acquisition, deployment, reporting and governance
  • Establish rigorous systems change management processes based on data acquisition and software development lifecycle best practices
  • With strategic direction and tactical consultation, exercise a high degree of autonomy in planning and executing major initiatives that will dramatically improve the effectiveness of our sales compensation program, achieving that success by building influence with peers across the organization.
  • Design and implement process improvements based on deep analysis of throughput, quality, and resource usage across the operations team.
  • Development of tools that support the effective enablement of the sales compensation program. These include reporting dashboards, ad hoc data analysis and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with partners in Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, & IT to streamline efficiency and effectiveness of systems and processes
  • Contribute to defining and documenting Sales incentives policies and program documentation
  • Lead and develop Sales Compensation team, including recruiting, training, development, and performance management
Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Experience in managing remote teams with diverse level of expertise
  • Experience establishing requirements, managing implementations, and developing effective quality controls in an end-to-end operational environment that includes end-user training and communications
  • Experience as the business owner of at least one major sales compensation tool such as Xactly, NICE, Callidus, Optymyze, or others
  • Experience building the relationships necessary to get things done in a matrixed environment
  • Experience with software implementation projects, including software development lifecycle, change management, requirements and testing documentation, and associated responsibilities
  • Expert ability in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent verbal, analytical and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with exemplary organization skills. Must possess 'can do' attitude
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully executing against tight deadlines, with a collaboration mind-set
  • Must be able to skillfully prioritize and manage concurrent projects and issues

Colorado [and/or] New York City Only: The pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary.
