Primary Purpose:

Assist in the administration of the plant environmental, health, and safety policies to help ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and to meet or exceed established goals.



Essential Functions:


* Update Plant Safety practices documents as directed to create a safe working environment.
* File Worker’s Compensation claims as needed and maintain document files.
* Accompany employees on initial visits physicians or drug screens as needed. On occasion, attend follow-up visits as well.
* Assist in safety and technical training as needed and directed.
* Work with EH&S Manager on various projects and initiatives.
* Environmental data entry, monitoring reports and maintaining on-site files for inspectors.
* Assist in Conducting ongoing safety inspections and audits of facilities, operations, and equipment to insure a safe working environment for all AWC employees.
* Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and recommend / conduct training as necessary under direction of EH&S Manager.
* Assists in Industrial Hygiene monitoring for noise and chemical exposure and Maintain files
* Administers and maintains MSDS Programs.
* Actively participate on assigned teams and/or projects.
* Role model CITE and Working in Teams principles.
* Perform other tasks as directed by EH&S manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position typically has 3+ direct reports and assists others in ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.



Education, Experience, and Skills:


* BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Engineering or related discipline; extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
* 2 to 4 years experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
* Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment; Microsoft products experience preferred - Outlook-Word-Excel-PowerPoint.
* Work Independently to meet deadlines and reporting goals.
* Track record of successful project management is a plus.
* Must have experience in working in a team environment,to meet/exceed goals.
* Strong planning/Organization & Time Management skills.
* Demonstrated problem solving skills.
* Experience with implementation and administration of a Reporting Programs is a plus.

Communications Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business and technical journals and financial reports. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public. Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to production team, plant level team, or public groups.



Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication or division to basic manufacturing performance recording or financial performance recording. Ability to read and use a tape measure.



Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.



Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds.



Working Environment:

Typical work will be in office, open cubical environment.

Typical indoor manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection may be required on the production floor. Safety glasses are required on the production floor. Off shift work and occasional weekend work is required.
