Essential Duties

• Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Perform facility inspections

• Assist as company representative for and OSHA inspections and ensure compliance

• Maintain OSHA 300 logs for all locations

• Generate weekly HSSE Alerts and lessons learned

• Generate weekly safety topics for company wide distribution

• Participate in or lead safety tool box meetings

• Delivers safety training programs educating employees on safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation, and emergency procedures.

• Conduct BBS Observations and promote stop work authority

• Support Safety Supervisor activities by reviewing incident report and making suggestions

• Assist with the development and distribution of new SOPs, VOPs, and company policies

• Participate with local emergency planning committees and trucking association

• Order and distribute all safety products, inventory, and ensures appropriate coding of purchases

• Coordinate the Alyeska Pipeline badging process for Carlile employees

• Manage Safety Data Sheets - Hazcom standard program

• Assist with emergency response; i.e. spill, fore drill, accident scene

• Assist in accident/injury investigation

• Conduct safety analytics

• Assist/support audits - OSHA, DOT, customer

• Maintain data for ISNet - customer website audit

• Assist with regulatory compliance duties

• Encourage development and support of local Safety and Leadership Teams (SALT)

• Continually works to improve their own knowledge and professional development through self-study, involvement with local/regional associations, and participate in approved off-site training opportunities

• Ensure OSHA record retention

• Coordinate workers comp administration and administration of claims/ incidents

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Certifications

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Health & Safety or associated field preferred, or 2-3 years equivalent training and experience.

• Knowledge of DOT regulations

• Knowledge of regulatory agencies and regulations affecting oilfield work

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

• Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations

• Two to three years of experience in transportation/ trucking industry

• Valid driver's license

• Must possess excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills

• Proven ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting deadlines

• Demonstrated attention to detail and work in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

• Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated as well as a team player

• Must be able to prioritize daily task and assignments

• Must be able to adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner

• Working knowledge of DOT regulations

• Working knowledge of regulatory agencies and regulations affecting the trucking and transportation industry

• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information

• Proficient using MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills

• Continually work to improve own knowledge and professional development through self-study, involvement with local/regional associations, and participation in approved off-site training opportunities.

Working Environment
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Working Environment

This position works in office, warehouse, and yard environments, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role is routinely exposed to standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, and commercial motor vehicles. There may be exposure to extreme weather conditions (wind, rain ice, snow, and temperature variations) as well as exposure to hazardous chemicals, materials, and airborne pathogens. This position is subject to frequent walking, bending, and lifting with and without mechanized equipment.
