Overview

Develops strategies to effectively implement rapid continuous improvement and lean principles. Position is the key change agent moving the organization culture to lean. Lead the site improvement initiatives by educating, training, and modeling rapid continuous improvement practices. Coordinates/channels corporate RCI support to accomplish group and site improvement objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and implements RCI initiatives which reduces cost, time and/or improves service, quality, educates, trains.
  • Facilitates local RCI activities
  • Counsels/coaches employees regarding RCI processes and tools.
  • Evaluates and reports results of the rapid continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Builds a team of lean thinkers at the facility evident by the acceleration of improvements made.
  • Develops expertise by participation in outside improvement events.
  • Implement, sustain, and use the 29 Safety Action Items as a guideline to support the Snap-on Incorporated Safety Philosophy.
    Responsible for safety program performance measured by key metrics and communicated to senior management.
    Designs and develops safety policies, practices, and procedures to prevent work related accidents and injuries.
  • Interacts with all levels of employees at their work area to actively promote safety and the safety philosophy throughout the facility.
  • Partners with management to set performance expectations and safety goals. Suggests and communicates strategies and information to leaders and managers.
  • Plans, promotes, organizes, and directs job safety audits (JSA) and related activities. Ensures sustainment of program procedures and advises management on problem correction.
  • Assures completion of all Certified Safe Associate Training as required by the 29 Action Items.
  • Drives the development of plans to achieve short and long-term safety and improvement goals.
  • Analyzes incident trends to identify training deficiencies, behavioral issues, or other opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Advises and trains leaders and associates in OSHA and other regulatory requirements and Safety Program essentials.
  • Lead Safety Review Board


Qualifications

  • Proactively connects with people to promote safe working behaviors.
  • College degree or equivalent experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Five or more years in high impact work experience in a leadership role
  • Effective communicator with strong stand-up skills
  • Able to learn and apply new processes.
  • Self-motivated and well organized
  • Can adapt leadership style according to the situation.
  • Excellent presentation/training skills.
  • Demonstrated change management skills.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, positive attitude.
  • Ability to foster credibility and influence others.
