Basic Job Functions:
- Leading and upholding safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.Candidate must be committed to Safety, Environmental, Quality, Productivity and Profitability of the division.
- Establishing safety practices, policies, and systems to monitor OSHA compliance to ensure division conformance, includingVulcraft and corporate regulations.
- Strategically planning and executingimprovements to our safe practices for operations and equipment along with establishing methods to enhance the working environment and culture.
- Best-marking with other Nucor divisions to continually improve our safety practices.
- Willingness to learn themanagement of change, incident investigations, metric records and reporting to OHSA and the corporate office and the division's Safety Management System.
- Responsible for all administrative tasks regarding OSHA mandated training and record keeping.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field, OR 2 years equivalent safety experience
- Prior leadership experience in a steel fabricating environment
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards and safety regulatory compliance
