SUMMARY

The Risk Management Analyst - ERMD provides data analysis and technical support to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC's), Enterprise Risk Management Division (ERMD). This position provides high-quality and comprehensive risk analysis, data analysis, and technical assistance work, which will help inform risk mitigation strategy and tactics as well as programmatic and operational process improvements across ONC. The Risk Management Analyst - ERMD will collect, maintain and analyze programmatic and operational data; conduct trend analysis; develop data-drive insights with recommendations for mitigation strategies and process improvement solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Uses Microsoft Office (which includes PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word and Outlook); Adobe Pro, SharePoint, in addition responsible to quickly gain proficiency in Salesforce, ConcurGov, Integrity, EFDS, and OpStar (SmartSimple).

Provides data analysis and insight/solution development of operational trends as applicable.

Reviews and revises operational processes, procedures and provides recommendations for process improvement.

Provides technical review of confidential and public financial disclosures in timely manner.

Provides technical review of outside activity requests and annual reports of outside activity in timely manner.

Provides technical assistance and review of ERMD forms and travel actions in timely manner.

Prepares data, materials and cross coordination across ONC for ERMD reconciliation meetings.

Participates in relevant trainings and workshops, including the management, data analysis and strategic planning of topics covering ethics and compliance, records management; Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Government Accountability Office (GAO) audits, risk management, and travel.

Drafts, revises and distributes educational and communications materials including, but not limited to newsletters, PowerPoint Presentations, memos, and executive updates.

Coordinates political travel details and assists with completion of packages for ethics review and approval.

Provides technical support to ONC risk management portfolio including strategic management, travel, ethics, audit, internal controls, and records management.

Utilizes and maintains EIS- Salesforce, ERMD G drive folders, and Tableau, including transition into OpStar.

Reviews ERMD intranet content and revises as appropriate.

Provides assistance across ERMD. Provides back up for unplanned absences.

Performs other tasks as needed to support ONC risk management efforts.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience working in a professional business environment; or equivalent combination of education / experience.

Operational knowledge of standard office practices and procedures

Working knowledge of business records management and filing processes

Skilled in Microsoft Office (which includes PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word and Outlook); Adobe Pro, SharePoint, with ability quickly gain proficiency in Salesforce, ConcurGov, Integrity, EFDS, and OpStar (SmartSimple)

Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of the English language as to professional business grammar, in the preparation of correspondence, reports and presentations

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to make sound judgments in a business environment

Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
