Summary Statement

Idaho Ice World is Idaho's premier indoor family ice skating and entertainment center. Offering adult and youth hockey leagues, figure skating programs, lessons, and public skate sessions, Idaho Ice World is a cornerstone of Boise recreation. The City of Boise is seeking a team of friendly and organized individuals to serve as Rink Attendants.
This position:

• Assists with operations and customer service at the Idaho Ice World (IIW) facility
• Assists customers with questions and provides assistance to staff as requested
• Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for assisting the shift manager with the completion of the daily tasks designed to ensure and maintain a safe and welcoming environment at Idaho Ice World
• Is open to all interested persons, 16 years of age or older
• Works up to 19 hours per week
• Is designated as At-Will

Essential Functions

Assists customers at the skate rental counter. Determines the correct size of rentals and checks out customers. Performs other duties about customer service, answering questions related to programs and/or operations, and related duties as assigned. Utilizes computers and related software such as word processing and risk management. (70%)

Participate in janitorial duties such as keeping all areas of the facility neat, clean, and safe at all times. These duties include sweeping and mopping the rink restrooms, locker rooms, shower areas, lobby, meeting rooms, bleachers, removing trash, cleaning rink glass, etc. (30%)

Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time. Total Percentage = 100%

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

• Experience working with the general public, answering phones, and handling cash
• Working knowledge of customer service techniques
• Cash handling procedures
• Basic addition and subtraction

Ability to:

• Interact with the general public
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations
• Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
• Complete assignments in a timely fashion
• Understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance
• Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

• 6 months working in a customer service role

Special Requirements
Applicants must be able to pass:

• City of Boise background check processes including a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
