Description:

The primary responsibilities of a tenured Professor are to develop a highly competitive research group to foster excellence in basic and translational research, as well as mentor and facilitate the research activities of others.

You are expected, as all faculty members are, to mentor students and stimulate them to participate in mentored research projects and other scholarly activity. We expect each faculty member to be meaningfully involved in presentations and/or publications annually.  We expect that you will participate actively and encourage in the many evolving interdisciplinary Centers at Tulane.  Our expectations are you will establish interdisciplinary collaborations with investigators in other departments at the School of Medicine as well as in other schools at Tulane University.  We anticipate that you will be submitting large center grants, such as program projects.  You will be able to compete for internal funding mechanisms at Tulane School of Medicine, such as pilot grant funds to support these submissions. We anticipate that you will be participating in the School of Medicine BMS PhD program.   

Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree

Five years' experience in biological science, biochemistry, molecular technology, and/or cellular biology
