Job Description
We are seeking a Research Assistant (full-time, 35 hours per week) to primarily work on a PCORI-funded implementation project. The aim of this project is to implement Skill Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR), an evidence-based therapy for psychological trauma, in university and college counseling centers across the United States. The project is co-led by Dr. Katherine Buchholz at Wellesley Centers for Women and Dr. Tiffany Artime at Pacific Lutheran University. This position will report to Dr. Buchholz and be located at the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College.

The Research Assistant will assist in most aspects of the implementation project including managing the administrative aspects of the project as well as provide support in organizing trainings, collecting clinician data reports, and conducting qualitative interviews. The Research Assistant will also assist Dr. Buchholz on other projects that may include collecting pilot data, literature reviews, manuscript and proposal writing, and administrative tasks.

The position is one year with the possibility to extend for a second year.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with writing, coordinating, and submitting IRB documents.
  • Provide administrative support for clinical trainings.
  • Assist in literature reviews, manuscript, and report writing/editing.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of print and social media for university and college counseling center sites.
  • Manage project documentation, data forms, correspondence, and budget.
  • Maintain records of site contacts.
  • Coordinate schedules for advisory board meetings, fidelity and adherence role plays, and qualitative interviews.
  • Conduct qualitative interviews.
  • Build relationships with university and counseling center clinicians and staff to support implementation work. Coordinate and track data from sites.
  • Maintain open communication with PI and seek supervision and feedback.
  • Attend regular team meetings.
  • Office work (typing dictations, assisting with manuscripts and grants, submitting reimbursements, ordering supplies, etc.).
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and social skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and effective at time management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience preferred:
  • BA or BS in psychology or related field required as of June 2024
  • Research experience, particularly with mental health research
  • Experience using SPSS or another statistical program
  • Familiarity with clinical diagnoses
  • Interest in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Psychological Trauma, or College Mental Health
Additional Details:
  • The Wellesley Centers for Women (WCW) is an academic research and action institute at Wellesley College that is focused on women and gender that seeks social change. The mission of WCW is to advance gender equality, social justice, and human wellbeing through high-quality research, theory, and action programs.
  • This will be a hybrid position with 3-4 days a week in the office. Schedule to be determined in partnership with supervisor.
  • May occasionally be asked to work in the evening as needed to support the research.
