RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a growing Nationwide Technology Company is seeking a Lead Java/J2EE Software Engineer to spearhead the next wave of development on the Company's Medical Platform and systems. This position is 100% Remote. The company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, annual bonus plan and Stock. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this exclusive search assignment. You will be responsible for software development, technical leadership, and mentorship of other Developers on the team, in addition to backend services development and code review. Key Tasks:

• Senior Java/J2EE Software Engineer will have full ownership and accountability of assigned codebase(s), development, and service
• Will develop new products from scratch; Stack consists of Java Components
• Will make architectural and technology decisions that impact the operational and business benefits of the Company.
• As a Senior Java/J2EE Software Engineer, you will take ownership of the development from beginning to end of the development life cycle
• Mentor and lead a small team of developers on the team as well as participate in feature development and code review
• Participate in Agile process meetings and planning (i.e.: SCRUM, grooming)
• Help coordinate release and deployment activities
• Senior Java/J2EE Software Engineers will work with an offshore team
• Work with the product management team on designing features from a technical perspective, including feasibility analysis and estimation

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience or qualification
• 6-12+ years of development experience in Java/J2EE based secure web applications
• Demonstrable process experience when defining and working on issues and demonstrated ability in picking up new material
• The candidate must be able to clearly articulate an organized demonstrable process when taking on a coding task or working through an example problem
• Strong experience and track record of making architectural and technology decisions that impact the operational and business benefits of the Company
• Strong experience developing new products from scratch or at least developed major new features from scratch
• Experience working with offshore teams
• Experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate, Core Java
• Experience writing testable code specifically Unit Test
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Microservices experience is required
• Good knowledge Azure Cloud experience; Will also consider AWS Cloud experience
• Experience in designing scalable web services
• Java J2EE and/or JVM based secure web applications Development experience
• Creative, resourceful, and innovative problem solver
• Good knowledge of SCM tools including Git and/or JIRA
• Knowledge of scripting languages (i.e., Python, R)
• Experience in a highly regulated industries such as medical device, aerospace and/or semiconductor is a plus
• Experience working in fast pace small to medium size companies is highly desired
