Job Overview:

We are currently seeking an Instrumentation Reliability Specialist that will be based at our Deer Park, TX location. This

hands-on position will report to the Reliability Center Manager and will work with the Linde Gases US Regional Reliability team to achieve strategic reliability goals within the Region.

The overall objective of the Instrumentation Reliability Specialist is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of production facilities at the lowest life cycle cost. The Instrumentation Reliability Specialist will be responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of preventive/predictive programs and corrective maintenance solutions for instrument systems and equipment in multiple facilities. This person will be expected to work independently and make technical decisions and recommendations in the field.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, test and calibrate industrial instrument and control systems
  • Develop, plan, schedule, coordinate and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Assist in root cause analysis activities for major failures.
  • Identif and resolving chronic (bad actors) or longer term (threats) instrumentation asset concerns.
  • Assist in turnaround planning and cost estimation of instrumentation work.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and in specify new instrument systems.
  • Develop and training new and current instrument specialists in the region.
  • Lead Procal (Instrumentation Calibration/ Asset management Software) implementation and compliance activities within
  • the region.
  • Assist in FDA and cGMP validation activities for instrumentation systems and assets.
  • Assess equipment performance data and ensure optimal and efficient performance.
  • Provide on-site or remote assistance and direction to plant or contract personnel to ensure safe and effective work.
  • Drive resolution of highest impact issues with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.
  • Development and execution of instrumentation obsolescence strategy
This position requires a combination of office work and field work. This position typically requires approximately 30% travel domestically. Accessibility during off-hours is required. Employee will be required to work in different weather conditions and must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts and crane baskets.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or Engineering Technology Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics and minimum of 5 years of
  • experience in the maintenance of instrumentation systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairs, testing and calibration of industrial instrumentation systems
  • and equipment.
  • Proven knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance of industrial instrumentation systems and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams.
  • Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal
  • supervision.
  • Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
  • Proven understanding of process control systems and methodology in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in Asset Management systems such as Infor EAM and Procal.
