Responsibilities

Wellstar Douglas in Douglasville, Georgia is seeking a FT Night Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Tech). The position will be 3 - 12 hours shift - the hours are eligible for evening and night shift differential. The Registered Polymonographic Technologist (Sleep Tech) works under the general supervision of the Director of Sleep Services or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a sleep technologist and can provide oversight of other sleep center staff. The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education

  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology, OR Successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technologist
Required Minimum Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation is required
  • Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds the:
    • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT),
    • Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), OR a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) that possesses the Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential
