The Registered Nurse - Health Texas Provider Network under general supervision, performs Laboratory functions and prepares patients for examinations and procedures.  Assists Physician with various procedures.  Cleans and arranges Laboratory and examination room equipment. Orders medical supplies. Administers medication and gives injections under supervision. 

Essential functions of the role include:

  • Handle patient preparation including taking vital signs, assessing condition, performing electrocardiograms, applying sterile dressings, assisting with pap smears and sutures, monitoring response to treatment and medication, and documenting changes in condition.
  • Prepare and administer medication and give injections under supervision.
  • Telephone prescription refills to Pharmacy and document in medical record.
  • Perform routine Laboratory functions such as obtaining and labeling specimens, ordering analysis, documenting Lab results, and possibly explaining results to patient.
  • Conduct routine Laboratory tests or procedures and document results in medical records.
  • Prepare Examination Rooms with appropriate medical supplies.
  • Clean and maintain Laboratory and Examination Room equipment.
  • Schedule referral appointments for patients, CT scans, MRI, and other procedures.
  • Educate patient and family members regarding plan of treatment as prescribed by Physician.
  • Assist with front office duties as needed.
  • Handle patient telephone calls.
  • May also require additional Nursing skills including intravenous therapy, GI, etc.

The ideal candidate for the Registered Nurse - Health Texas Provider Network role has at least 3 months of experience. The candidate should hold both RN and BLS certifications, and have an Associate’s degree.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Associate's

- EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 3 months experience required

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
      &nbspRegistered Nurse (RN)

      &nbspBasic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
