Our client, a real estate non profit in Boston, is seeking a temporary Receptionist to join their team. This role is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and is slated to last 3+ months with possibility of extension. The primary function of this position is to provide customer service/reception support serving as the first point of contact for all incoming visitors, and to provide clerical and administrative support to the Maintenance Department. This role pays $19-21/hour based on experience and is looking for something to start asap!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties, and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.

  • Serves as the first point of contact for all visitors.
  • Maintains the reception area in a clean, organized, and welcoming manner.
  • Provides customer service, clerical, and administrative support to the Maintenance Department.
  • Answers Maintenance Department phone line. Receives maintenance requests and generates work orders.
  • Assists with special assignments as requested.

Responsiveness and Accountability: Demonstrates a high level of conscientiousness. Holds oneself personally responsible for one's own work and does fair share of work.

Safety Awareness: Employee is cognizant of their surroundings. Follows proper safety procedures and considers the safety of self and others. Identifies, communicates, and assists in the correction of any safety concerns where appropriate.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of experience providing general clerical or administrative support and customer service. Experience working in rental assistance programs or similar field a plus. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Technical Skills

To perform this job successfully, the employee should have strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). Experience with PHA-Wen, Inc. housing software a plus. Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
