RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in San Diego, CA that is seeking a RCM Patient Advocate.Responsibilities:
  • Inbound/Outbound calls to assist patients with questions regarding their patients' statements & processing payments
  • The RCM Patient Advocate will be completing and submitting financial assistance applications for eligible patients
  • Advocates for patients with follow-up to obtain signed DOR (Designation of Representative) form
  • Attends all eligibility related meetings and trainings
  • Utilizes XIFIN and other electronic systems to perform research on outstanding patient balances
  • Verifies current insurance information to rebill claims when patients call to provide updated insurance information
  • Successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities without missing deadlines
  • The RCM Patient Advocate documents complaints by listening to the patient and patient family complaints; Documenting details; Determining what resolution is sought
  • Follow-up & follow through on all paid to patient outstanding A/R


REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of related experience in medical collections, or completion of a medical billing vocational school
  • EOB - Explanation of Benefits experience - Insurance (commercial, govt. and Blue Cross Blue Shield); taking high volume calls
  • Familiar with accessing Medical Coding (CPT & Diagnostic Codes) and HIPPA rules and regulations
  • Should understand medical terminology, EOB's and CMS 1500's and insurance classifications such as HMO, PPO, Medicare and private insurances
  • Familiarity with insurance plans, third party administrators, and governmental rules and regulations preferred
  • Able to work with high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer skills required to operate practice management system (i.e., use Window operating system, conduct Internet searches, communicate by email, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients and internal personnel


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
