Georgia-Pacific's Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant in Fordyce Arkansas has an incredible opportunity for a Quality Technician to be a part of the quality control team.

Individuals in this role must be available to work twelve (12) hour rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and Overtime as needed in extreme hot/cold and humid environments. Occasionally the Quality Technician will be working in a climate-controlled office. Physical aspects include but are not limited to lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a day.

The most common uses are sheathing in walls, flooring and roof decking. What You Will Do

  • Perform all product testing associated with quality certification of the finished product
  • Maintain timely and accurate computerized records of test results and data
  • Work directly with 3rd party certification personnel to submit samples for outside testing and data analysis
  • Perform testing equipment calibration using various tools i.e., computer software, measuring tapes, and Micrometers
  • Lead quality efforts for a wood products production team to work injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Drive improvement in all associated work processes affecting EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs
  • Support the APA (American Plywood Association) Quality System (PS2-18) to align and optimize the manufacturing enterprise in delivering value to the business
  • Facilitate team development and growth from a quality perspective which helps with problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership, and holding employees accountable
  • Support safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved
  • Monitor the quality of craft work and provide direction to crew members to maximize production efficiency
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues
  • Responsible for timely completion of computer-based monthly assigned safety trainings
  • Data entry and completing/generating reports
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations to include wearing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five years of industry experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating Basic Software Programs and inputting data
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Associates Degree or higher
  • Minimum of two years of analytical laboratory experience
  • Level One APA certification
  • PSQ Certification
