As a Quality Technician, you will perform various quality control tests on products to verify that all products meet or exceed minimum UL requirements. Perform inspections on cutting lines, molding/expanding, and shipping departments to ensure quality products are produced and shipped out to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
* Use dimensional measuring devices to ensure product meets job order specifications
* Enter all test results into company database and manage documents.
* Communicate quality issues with engineering, shipping and scheduling daily.
* Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
* Participate in U.L. audits on a quarterly basis
* Act as plant liaison to the Tech Center in regard to all QC functions
* All other duties as assigned

Equipment Used:

This position uses the following equipment in the course of the job duties: universal testing machine, power tools, dimensional measuring devices, tape measure, moisture meter, forklift/clamp truck, radio, computer, and phone.

Working conditions:

This position conducts its work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to some odors. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked. Typically shifts are Monday through Friday although Saturdays may be required during high sales volumes. This is a first shift position.

Physical Requirements:

For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Also, must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds. There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping occasionally up to 50 pounds. In addition, this position requires the following abilities: standing, reaching outward, reaching above shoulders, and bending frequently and walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, squatting, and kneeling occasionally.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used:

While working on the production floor, eye and hearing protection is required at all times. Other forms of PPE may be required as defined by management.

Qualifications:

* Education - High School diploma or GED required
* Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience required
* Experience with computers and Microsoft Office suite
* Math skills proficiency up to algebra and trigonometry
* Able to communicate effectively through verbal, oral, and written means
* Able to pass a vision test with or without corrective lenses
* Able to perform work accurately and thoroughly
* Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
