MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Quality Manager's activities are critical to ensure we consistently deliver high-quality products, meet regulatory requirements, and maintain customer satisfaction. The Quality Manager plays a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards throughout the organization. She/ he is responsible for developing and implementing quality control and quality assurance processes, as well as managing and leading a team of quality professionals.

REPORTING LINE

Reports to: Global Quality Director

This position will sit in our Northampton MA office and will require travel to our office in Quebec, Canada.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Focus of activities

• Formulates and aligns strategy for own processes in relation with other related business processes.

• Initiates and manages quality & continuous improvements throughout the entity

• Manage staff of quality professionals

Autonomy

• Impact on Organization business performance with process added value of 5-10 MGBP

• Independent worker managed by Global Quality Director

Education and working experience

• Academic working and thinking level and 4 -6 years of relevant experience

• Bachelor working and thinking level with 6- 8 years of relevant experience.

• Management experience

• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Complexity

• Oversees and integrates multiple interrelated processes with a high level of complexity within own entity and in coordination with associated business functions (e.g. R&D, Operations, Customer Service)

• Operational processes and products are complex, heterogeneous, and subject to frequent innovation.

• Setting up and execution of process policy and plan, and contributes to the entity strategy

• Initiates continuous improvements throughout the entity

Communication

• Communicates effectively with external auditing bodies, key suppliers and customers as required

• Works closely with R&D, Sustaining, Manufacturing, Man Eng, Purchasing, Customer Service and HR department

• Communicates to local teams on issues relevant to them as well alignment to overall MP communications.

• Communicates with functional leadership based on site to ensure alignment.

ENVIRONMENT AND HOURS:

This is an exempt position with a standard work week of 40 hours, although there is occasionally a need for staff to work beyond this limit.
