Functional Description: Support Individual Contributor

Performs inspections, checks testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes. Carries out packaging line, manufacturing inspections and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials to ensure that company standards are met. Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation. May draft procedures and assist with validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays. May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspects subassemblies, WIP products and finished goods.
  • Evaluates parts or assemblies against standards by reviewing blueprints, schematics, or drawings Determines acceptance or rejection of products. Use control charts when used.
  • Operate laboratory equipments (microscopes, computers, etc.)
  • Complete and review associated documents.
  • Compile testing results, yield and rejection data on a regular basis.
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable regulations to FDA, ISO, OSHA, etc.
  • Train new inspectors.
  • This position assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

Education and experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Scope:
  • Work at this level requires following standardized methods and under immediate supervision on assignments that are semi-routine in nature.
  • Follows pre-established guidelines and procedures with minimal choice as to method of performance of the work.
  • Has contact with employees at other levels within the company. Information exchanged is generally non-complex.

Judgement:
  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
  • Works under close supervision.

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience and a High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.

Workplace Type:
  • The Workplace Type for this role is Assigned Desk. Based on the nature of your role you will have an assigned desk or office located at a Dexcom site and should plan to be onsite approximately 4-5 days per week.

Work days:
  • Tuesday through Saturday 2:00pm to 10:30pm

Functional Description

    Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing a variety of work functions that include performing inspection and testing of raw materials, component piece parts, and finished goods received from suppliers, in accordance with documented specifications and procedures. Develops inspection procedures and prepares accurate documentation of inspection results.

    Quality Control Inspector is proficient with optical inspection of mechanical parts as well as workmanship inspection of electronic PCBAs, printed artwork and literature. Provides ongoing support of formal supplier quality systems and assistance with investigations of nonconforming material. Interfaces with manufacturing and engineering personnel and works in a team-oriented environment. Maintains a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and dealing with shifting priorities.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Responsible for material flow, storage of parts, and accurate inventory transactions within the MRP system.
      • Performs first article inspections and supplies data to engineering. Assists in the development of inspection procedures
      • Identifies problems, and proposes resolutions that are timely, cost-effective, and meet quality requirements.
      • Responsible for accurately recording inspection results and maintaining good documentation practices.
      • Responsible for visual and/or dimensional QC inspection and/or testing of incoming quarantined materials, inspection of in-process materials, labeling, and final commercial product.
      • Performs and understands geometric tolerance, inspection of electronic assemblies, and acceptance sampling plans.
      • Must be able to distinguish between certain colors and pass an annual color vision test
      • Reads and understands specifications and inspection criteria and applies criteria using appropriate and properly configured inspection tools. Reads and understands schematics and mechanical drawings.
      • Applies proficient computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office and database applications such as Oracle and SolidWorks.
      • Works and communicates effectively and professionally with others.
      • Assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications:

      Required Qualifications:
      • Minimum 6 months work experience as a QC Inspector, or equivalent combination of education and related manufacturing and/or QC experience.
