JOB SUMMARY

MSP is the leading supplier of inhalation test equipment for the inhaler market. Our products are used to develop and certify nebulizers and inhalers which deliver critical medicines via lung deposition. The MSP QC Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring production QC testing is performed to SOP by analyzing and compiling data formulating the basis for product certifications. The position will also be involved in our overall quality process by reviewing and making recommendations for process improvements in manufacturing and certification. Although this position is initially focused on MSP's inhalation product line, we are looking to improve our product certification throughout the entirety of MSP's product offerings and this role has the potential to play a critical role in guiding that improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Compile production verification data, perform appropriate analysis, and produce final quality assurance certificates.
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
  • Investigate and resolve questionable test results
  • Make recommendations and implement improvements in data analysis process, tools, and data management.
  • Responsible for undertaking operations necessary for quality testing within quality control
  • Undertake visual inspections of finished products
  • Participate in internal assessments and audits where necessary
  • Responsible for identifying and troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Write or document deviation reports, testing protocols, and trend analyses in a technical report
  • Write/revise standard quality control operating procedures for the organization
  • Report or conduct investigation on questionable test results
  • Responsible for calibrating and customer owned equipment sent in for service
  • Act as a member of the quality management system team on a part-time basis


  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    2-year Degree (technical or associate) in a scientific discipline is required. Bachelor's degree is desired.

    Experience

    2+ years of work experience in a varied processing/testing role (metrology, laboratory, analysis, chemistry, quality or other scientific work).

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of dimensional measurement, statistics, and report generation.
    • Communication skills: The ability to follow verbal and written instructions as well as excellent written and oral communication skills for documentation purposes and an effective work relationship
    • Apt for learning: Willing and able to learn through observation and hands on experience
    • Self-starter/team player: Possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Computer skills: Possess a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Database capability is a plus. Must be fluent with Excel spreadsheet construction, function, and validation
    • Effective time management skills: Able to complete assigned task within stipulated time frame and deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to develop and establish effective work relationships
    • Research skills: The ability to gather and generate data as well as conduct relevant investigations where there are deviations from standards

    EQUIPMENT TO BE USED

    Must be able to:
    • Use various Measurement and test equipment
    • Use standard office equipment such as copier, fax, telephone, postage, etc.
    • Operate computer and other electronic equipment

    WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Work is typically performed in a standard office setting working at a desk or table on a level surface. Air quality and noise levels are within normal limits. Eye protection is usually not required. Under normal conditions, exposure to excessive noise, dust, humidity, and fumes is rare. Individual may be required to work more hours than normally expected during a regular workweek depending on workload and deadline requirements.
