Description:
Our client is looking for a FULLY REMOTE Website QA Tester/Analyst to ensure the University's/College web presence is functional, accessible and secure. Is that you?

About the Team:

Reporting to the Associate Director for UX Design & Development, the Website QA Analyst is part of a web and digital team in the central Office of University Communications (OUC) comprising UX designers, front-end developers and strategists/web producers.

The Website QA Analyst will conduct pre-deployment and ongoing testing on websites and other digital platforms to identify, report and resolve errors, bugs and other potential issues.

Duties include:

• Meeting with members of the web and digital team to receive and discuss testing assignments
• Reviewing documents, specifications and other background materials to understand the scope, requirements and function of to-be-tested websites and digital platforms
• Following provided testing plans; occasionally designing new plans and cases for testing
• Conducting time-sensitive, pre-deployment testing of websites and other digital platforms ensuring website content delivery is reliable, consistent and satisfies requirements and end-user expectations
• Review layout and display, multimedia content, front-end content, social media integration, mobile optimization, etc.
• Proofread all copy including text in headings and captions
• Identify content that does not meet web accessibility guidelines
• Documenting detailed test results, providing feedback on errors, and overall functionality and usability
• Using the Drupal CMS to resolve issues and making appropriate edits to webpages under review
• Reviewing issue reports generated by Site improve and Google Search Console and resolving accessibility, spelling and broken link errors within specific webpages
• Auditing sets of webpages to identify and remove deprecated website components
• Ensuring compliance with policies and protocols relating to visual identity, image use and accessibility

Job Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of QA Experience testing web/digital systems.
• Hands-on experience using web content management systems, preferably Drupal
• Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and other digital best practices and standards
• Proficient with various types of productivity software including Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft Office and more
• Basic knowledge of HTML
• A meticulous approach to work with excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently and ability to manage quick turnaround times for assigned work
• Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
