Purchasing Specialist

FULL-TIME

$28/hr

Principle accountabilities:
1. Supplier development and selection both national and international
2. Develops/manages the major suppliers under them using metrics or supplier scorecard (Quality PPM,Lead-time, capacity, inventory and YOY cost improvement)
3. Using Sales and Operations Planning and good communication to ensure on time delivery to manufacturing and distribution for our customers
4. Maintains updated parts and vendor master along with any other relevant database for the items they are responsible
5. Source parts and materials, focusing on cost, availability, dependability, quality, delivery, and other factors
6. Communicates/elevates issues as need to stakeholders.
7. Work with vendors to resolve any gap in availability, capacity, quality, and cost.
8. Supports New Product Development Other projects as assigned
9. Managing the Purchase Order process
10. Gather and analyze data to improve the department
11. Prepare bid documents and evaluate proposals for applicable orders
12. Negotiate preferred pricing, terms, and delivery with vendors
13. Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers
14. Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve supplier quality issues, ensuring timely and effective containment and long-term resolution of each concern
15. Work with design and manufacturing to forecast requirements and implement purchasing contracts reflective of those requirements
16. Proactively seek improved quality and pricing beneficial to the company.
17. Generate purchasing documentation and order parts and materials
18. Ensure manufacturing has all parts and components when needed
19. Return incorrect or defective goods
20. Minimize overstocks, obsolete material, and returns

Schedule

Shift start: 7:30AM
Shift length: 8 hours
Monday - Friday, some weekends and evenings required

Qualifications

• Must pass drug screen
• Must pass background check
• Can lift 50 lbs
• Must be at least 18+ years old

Experience with ERP system required (preferably Global Shop)At least 2+ years of manufacturing strongly preferred.
