Discover Impactful Work:

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual to join our team as a Purchasing Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for generating purchase requests in our ERP system based on information provided by requestors through completed order request forms. You will work closely with requestors, procurement, and suppliers while ensuring compliance with company guidelines regarding supplier selection for specific products.

A day in the Life:
  • Generate purchase requests in the ERP system based on information provided by requestors through completed order request forms.
  • Collaborate with requestors, procurement, and suppliers to identify the most cost-effective options available for procurement needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and policies regarding supplier selection for specific products.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate terms and pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information in the ERP system.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on purchase orders, delivery timelines, and any potential issues or delays.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Assist in resolving any invoicing or payment discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry regulations, and best practices in purchasing to continually improve procurement processes.
Keys to Success:

Education
  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
  • Technical positions may require a certificate
Experience
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 4 years).
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately process and manage purchase requests.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with requestors, procurement, and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and proficiency in using relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of purchasing best practices, supplier evaluation, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to purchasing is a plus.
