The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point seeks an experienced leader in academic affairs to serve as its next Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Established in 1894, UW-Stevens Point is one of 11 comprehensive universities in a public higher education system that also includes two doctoral institutions and a statewide Extension. UW-Stevens Point enrolls approximately 8,135 undergraduate and graduate students across three campuses in the heart of Wisconsin, with locations in Stevens Point, Marshfield and Wausau.

UW-Stevens Point offers more than 100 program options within 80 baccalaureate degree programs, 90 minors and 17 graduate programs, including three doctorates, within the College of Fine Arts and Communication, College of Letters and Science, College of Natural Resources and College of Professional Studies. Students discover inspiring professors, research, study abroad opportunities and dynamic programs that prepare them for a fulfilling career. UW-Stevens Point equips its students to live sustainably, think critically and realize long-term success in a diverse world.

The incoming Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA) will report directly to the Chancellor and be an integral and vital part of UW-Stevens Point's leadership team. The Provost and VCAA will provide a strategic vision for the future of education at UW-Stevens Point. The next Provost and VCAA shall embody the values of the Wisconsin Idea, working with others on campus to address issues and opportunities in the local community and across the state. The Provost and VCAA will be an authentic and passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion across student, faculty and staff communities. This leader will champion faculty and student success and foster a culture of shared governance on campus.

The successful candidate will have a successful record of academic administrative leadership experience at the chair level or higher. The Provost and VCAA will be experienced in the processes of comprehensive academic planning, accreditation, strategic planning and assessment. The next Provost and VCAA will have a strong commitment to the principles of liberal education and to maintaining a climate of collaboration and transparency at all levels of the university community. The successful candidate will have earned a terminal degree in a recognized academic discipline from an accredited institution, and ideally possess the credentials that would qualify them for the rank of professor at the time of their appointment.
