We are looking to hire a Protection Officer at our Behavioral Health Unit in Boise! As a Protection Officer at Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will respond to all disturbances and requests for help in all areas of the medical center. You will maintain a quiet, safe environment and provide a safeguard for all property belonging to the medical center, patients, visitors, physicians, and employees. Protection Officers are expected to confront strangers and direct them to the proper area or escort them off the premises. You may also be required to physically restrain a person if the situation arises.
Our ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with the public in regards to safety, visitor control, thefts, and any security problems that may arise on a daily basis.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous security or military experience preferred.
- Must have active driving privileges. If, during the course of employment, driving privileges change or colleague receives a driving citation, the colleague is required to notify their supervisor and/or HR.
- Able to operate motor vehicle, two-way radio, camera, and electronic surveillance equipment.
CERTIFICATES:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required.
- Private Security Certification in the State of Oregon required for Officers assigned to SAMC Ontario and SAMC Baker City.
