Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently searching for a Project Manager (PM) for its Industrial Power Group division (Foster Wheeler) in our office in Roswell, GA. This position is contingent on successful project award.

The PM will be responsible for commercial, technical and project management expertise across the organization's operations. Working under the direction of his/her supervisor, this individual will focus on a broad range of duties necessary to deliver project success relative to scope, schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute proposals and projects, understanding and clarifying scope, schedule & budget on all awarded work to be performed. Ensure project execution adheres to "as sold" scope, schedule and budget within the contract
  • Maintain awareness of product/project design features to ensure vendor supply and manufacturing capabilities are in place to effectively deliver on project supply chain targets during execution of project
  • Manage projects utilizing internal processes & procedures
  • Manage and administer an executed contract to organization's advantage
  • Maintain close relationship with design, metallurgical, quality, commercial staff and other stakeholders to drive balance between risk opportunity, and reward associated with executed projects
  • Manage project engineer and functional teams to ensure project deliverables are achieved timely and within budget
  • Provide input to, review and modify project schedules as necessary during the project life-cycle
  • Manage change both financial as well as from a schedule perspective to ensure risk profile remains similar, or less than the as sold risk profile


Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering degree, advanced business training desirable; similarly can be a finance / accounting degree with considerable construction or engineering project management experience
  • Minimum 5 years project management
  • Familiarity with breadth of machining, welding, and assembly processes
  • Demonstrate confidence and proven successful execution performance critical to winning business and maintaining trust with client through successful project execution strategy, planning and tactics
  • Ability to function independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and abroad to support projects (25%)
  • Integral knowledge of schedule creation, budget creation, management and variance reporting
  • In depth experience with earned value metrics, establishing a reporting function ideal to promote project profit and loss to senior management
  • Position requires experience to negotiate and management contractual terms with the support of the business Commercial team
  • In depth knowledge of Change Management responsibility as it relates to clients and vendors
  • Authorization to lawfully work in the United States without sponsorship from Wood is required
