Project Manager - Mission Critical (GBA)

GBA, a professional, full service architectural and engineering firm is seeking a curious, self-motivated, and highly organized Mission Critical Project Manager to join our team at World HQ in Lenexa, KS. This group specializes in the Mission Critical industry and serves some of the world's largest financial institutions, technology firms, enterprises, and communication companies which entrust our integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, and construction managers to help deliver on the design, construction, maintenance & operations, and commissioning of their most critical assets. Responsibilities:

• Lead a Design team to develop projects and lead them from pursuit (scoping and proposal development) to closeout.
• Teach, coach, and mentor staff on best practices and procedures, client interactions, soft skills, etc.
• Communicate progress to clients and management, including budget status, profit and loss reports, cost projections, labor resources, and any risk(s)
• Interact with clients, construction team and design team as needed to resolve issues and expedite the project.
• Review project estimates with construction team (field and office) to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Performing quality control on the project throughout the duration to maintain the standards expected by GBA and the client.
• Schedule development and evaluations with long-term and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
• Establish project budgets and forecast budgets to project completion.
• Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
• Work with a versatile group of professionals to provide innovative solutions during design, construction, startup, and commissioning.
• Some travel is required.

Requirements:

• BS in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred, but other degrees will be considered as well as relative experience.
• 5 + years of project management design experience in mission critical facilities - data centers and telecommunication facilities
• MEP trade knowledge is preferred. Membership and association with professional and trade groups such as 7x24 Exchange, UPTIME Institute or AFCOM is preferred.
• Detailed understanding of project accounting and P&L statements
• Proven Leadership Experience that will fit into GBA's "Listening and Servant Leadership" culture.
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player with a partnership approach to working with superintendents, construction PM's, architects, and engineers.
• MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with excellent social skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external connections.
• Ability to work in fast paced results orientated environment with self-motivation, multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
