Project Management Intern

About the Position

The Project Management Intern will assist the Project Management team on assigned projects from initiation to completion and support the advancement of digital collaborative tools. This individual will support various internal stakeholders in different departments with new or existing projects, ensuring the Project Management team provides resources and tools necessary for successful project completion.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  1. Attend new and ongoing project meetings with various internal stakeholders. Record meeting minutes.
  2. Process new project requests and assist with full-cycle maintenance of project requests.
  3. Assist Technical Project Manager with coordinating resources necessary for successful project completion.
  4. Develop project plans for a variety of internal project requests. Create milestones and timelines for projects tailored to stakeholder expectations and deliverables.
  5. Track project performance using various reporting tools. Provide updates to stakeholders on an as needed or as requested basis.
  6. Create and maintain project documentation. Upload necessary updates, commentary, and material within project management software within appropriate deadlines.
  7. Apply appropriate change management techniques. Assist in developing alternate plans or additional milestones when necessary depending on project success or stakeholder expectations.
  8. Assist in the identification, design and implementation of internal process improvements.


Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.
  1. Currently seeking a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or Project Management.
  2. Willingness and ability to learn new tools and processes related to technology (such as MS Office Suite and Project Management tools).
  3. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  4. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  5. Travel required sometimes


This is a paid internship, running May 17 - August 6. All candidates must be able to work on site in Raleigh, NC.
