Description

The Project HSSE advisor is responsible for assisting the Project Team and with providing technical assistance and guidance as it relates to HSSE

This Advisor will be reporting to the T&T commission lead

Core Responsibilities

• Providing specialist advise to the Project Director in the implementation of the HSSE Protocol
• Verifying the acceptability of the Contractor's HSSE management system and arrangements, Contract HSSE Plan and HSSE Risk Assessment
• Guiding and coaching the Contractor* in meeting HSSE requirements and delivering Goal Zero on the project
• Verify Contractor has effective implementation of the Contract HSSE Plan management system and arrangements
• Monitoring, inspecting and auditing activities on site to check and drive safe working practice
• Verifying compliance with the site HSSE system and arrangements
• Verifying compliance with the Contract HSSE requirements
• Verifying H&S risk is properly addressed in design
• Guiding the Contractor in developing a site safety culture
• Reviewing and commenting upon (but not approving) Permit to work , Method Statements and Task Risk Assessments prior to works being carried out
• Verifying compliance with PTWs, Method Statements and Task Risk Assessments
• Verifying Contractor accurate and timely monthly HSSE reporting
• Guiding HSSE Intervention and near miss reporting at all levels
• Verifying Contractor reporting and recording of incidents and follow up to verify effective close out
• Leading / assisting / overseeing, as appropriate, effective incident investigation
• Analyzing near misses and incidents to identify trends and lessons learnt and providing guidance to Contractors on addressing these (plus providing feedback on lessons learnt to the GPMO for wider circulation)
• Verifying effective Contractor inductions and other HSSE training
• Verifying effective Contractor Tool Box Talks and Task Briefings
• Encouraging safe working practice through proactive engagement and communication initiatives with Contractor team managers, supervisors and workers
• Providing HSE information, advice and recommendations to the Project Team
• Attending Contractor's HSSE Committee and project meetings as required
• Verifying effective Contractor HSSE co-ordination with other building and site stakeholders
• Verifying effective incorporation of HSSE in change management
• Verifying effective HSSE in transition and handover to Operate phase

Qualifications

The candidate should have 10 years of relevant health and safety experience in the oil & gas industry

The candidate should at a minimum bachelor's degree related HSSE degree; or equivalent years of transferable field experience

The candidate should have the following technical skills

• A thorough knowledge of Health and Safety methods and best practices.
• Technology competent in using the following Software: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
• Safety - STSC certification or above

The candidate should have the following soft skills

• Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working with a diverse range of personalities across clients and partner organizations
• Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders
• Be able to effectively work collaboratively with all parties to solve project challenges associated with the management of HSSE, while representing the client best interest
