Your Role & Responsibilities

• SUMMARY
• As the N.A. Project Buyer you will be co-located with the Compressor N.A. Purchasing Team, Program Management Team, and Engineering Team. You will be responsible for preparing material cost and vendor tooling estimates (including tool renewal forecasts) for Acquisitions that the compressor team is working on. Once the business is awarded to MAHLE you will be responsible for sourcing any new components at or below the business case target to a capable supplier and within the project timeline. This job requires that you work well with other disciplines within MAHLE and with the supply base. You must also be disciplined to follow the sourcing process and stay organized.
• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• List the primary tasks of the position, in order of importance / largest time spent to least time spent. Describe what must be accomplished by the position.
• Provide material costs using the Project Buying tool in support of Acquisitions
• Estimate vendor tooling and die renewals in support of Acquisitions
• I will partner with each Project Buyer (PB) during the acquisition phase to support the Quote Team. Each PB will be intimately involved with the commitments made during this phase. These commitments will be what they must achieve during the sourcing process if the business is won.
• Follow the sourcing process to source new part numbers for a program
• Each Project Buyer will be responsible for managing cost, timing, capacity for an entire customer program. They will work closely with the other functions until sourcing is complete and the program is handed over to Commodity Buy.
• Each Project Buyer will also specialize in certain commodities for the sourcing of the components. The purpose of this arrangement is to:
• Have one person dealing with each supplier
• Maximize bundling opportunities

Your Skills & Strengths

• EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• BS in Engineering, BS and/or MBA Business
• Project Management skills
• WORK HOURS
• Employees must be able to work additional hours and/or additional days during the payroll week which can be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
• TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Domestic/international travel with/without overnight stay may be required.
